Hamas launched a diabolical invasion of Israel that is reminiscent of the vile incidents and human degradation that took place during the Nazi holocaust. Israel had enough of seventy years of partial victories followed by appeasement and pacification followed by further atrocities and attacks. Israel moved into Gaza with one thing and only one thing identified as to what the final outcome would be; the final total destruction of Hamas.
Despite advice from leading countries in the world for Israel to attack with caution and then delivering requests for a cease fire, Israel followed its own path and continues to hammer the Hamas terrorist group. To the public the rhetoric between countries is somewhat tame; however, behind the scenes I would not be surprised if Israel did not remind the United States that there were no calls for America to cease fire after Pearl Harbor was attacked or after forces had landed in France on D-Day or after the World Trade Center was attacked.
Israel takes its time when it comes to retribution but when the time is right it hits with surgical precision. The mastermind of the Hamas invasion, an Iranian General. Was killed with a precise air strike in his building in the Iranian consulate in Syria. The hornet nest had been struck. Iran retaliated with a huge air attack on Israel by launching over 300 drones and missiles. Ninety-nine percent of the missiles were harmlessly shot down. Israel said they will retaliate and despite urging from the West to not do so Israel fired a new type of missile at Iran. All targets were hit and Israel amazed the world with a weapon that could infiltrate Iran’s air defense and hit with impunity.
Israel was sending a message. Damage occurred but that was minor compared to what it wanted to convey to Iran. Israel can hit where it wants and when it wants while at the same time warheads launched from Iran will not hit its intended target. Today, the day after the Israeli attack, we can only imagine what Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is reviewing. It is like being hit between the eyes with a two-by-four in the dark and this jolt in reality is being experienced throughout the world. What has Israel developed?
Is Iran so foolish that it is considering a counter strike? There are certainly members of Iran’s leadership that realizes that they do not want an escalation but there are also hawks in the government that are demanding another strike. Their goal of Iran is to destroy Israel at all cost and to heck with the general population of Iran. This sacrificing young Iranian men and women is not new. During the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s Iran would launch human wave attacks much as was witnessed in World War I and Korea. It is estimated that as many as 750,000 Iranians died as a result of this war. Life takes a backseat to winning even when it is doubtful that victory can be achieved.
Today, the day after the Israeli attack on Iran the world waits to see what will take place. Will the hawks overcome a dovish desire within Iran and launch another strike on Israel; perhaps from Hezbollah in Lebanon. The only thing impeding an assault from the terrorist group in Lebanon is economics. The Lebanese economy, one that thrived in the 1980s is struggling and the last thing it needs is to be in any kind of conflict with Israel while Russia is not in any shape to support the two proxy governments that are pro-Iranian. These are Lebanon and Syria. The Ukrainian war has been draining Russia’s resources for over two years.
If Iran wants to strike Israel, it is going to have to stand on its own two feet and go it alone. If Iran strikes Israel again Israel will have to send another message to Iran that is even stronger than the first. Four targets should be selected that sends a loud clear message. One bomb hitting Kharj Island, the crude loading facility on the Persian Gulf would show that Iran could have its ability to load crude from the Gulf curtailed. One bomb hitting the new crude loading terminal outside the Straights of Hormuz would show that crude exports could be stopped and thus Iran’s economy could be crushed. One bomb hitting one refinery would send the signal that the counties infrastructure could be greatly impacted. One bomb hitting one nuclear site would show that the development of a nuclear bomb could be bombed back into the stone age.
The next few weeks will be quite interesting. Let us hope and pray that the world will make the right decisions, the escalation will not happen and world peace can be realized. God Bless America, God Save the Ukraine and Pray for Israel
