Occassionally I will be blindsided by something so patriotic and so insperational that I will be speachless while a lump develops in my throat and a tear may form in my eye.  This happened today as I viewed  a five minute video on UTUBE.

My graduating class in rural north Louisiana cracked the ceiling by graduating 100 students for the first time.  At the same time we had 101 members of the Farmerville Marching Band perform at halftime of the high school football games.  This was punctuated by the Saturday night performances of the local college bands of ULM, Louisiana Tech, nationally acclaimed Grambling and of course LSU.  The half time events were a magical time at the football games played across the country.

Over time the high schools of the area deminished to much smaller units but the music the bands played has continued to endear itself to the citizens of our great country.  Much of the music came from our military organizations and instilled a sense of pride in the revellers in the stands.

There is a UTUBE video that captures this experience  The University of West Virginia performed remarkebly at a game in early November and the young men and women of the band captured the spirit of America as they pay respect to the young men and women of the Unitied States Military.  What a perfect day in early November to have such a celebration in tribute our military might.  For a truly insperational five minutes go to
