On August 2nd 1990, Saddam Hussein sent his Republican Guard divisions and other military units into tiny Kuwait and thus started the first Gulf War.  On the eve of the 20th anniversary of this invasion a new historical novel about this invasion and the subsequent build up to Operation Desert Storm has been released.   Thomas T. fields, Jr., author of “I Called Him Grand Dad.  The Lost Political Papers of Harvey G. Fields”,  has penned this new book that deals with the expatriates that lived in Saudi Arabia prior to the invasion.   This book follows fictional characters as they live day to day trying to perform their work while keeping the oil flowing to the free world.  The book is titled “Desert Burning” and is available today from the publisher, Xlibris.  Later availability will be through Amazon.com and BarnesAndNoble.com.
